Name
Ancient Egyptian rn. Much importance was attached in ancient Egypt to preserving the name of an individual throughout eternity as this imparted immortality to the deceased. Statues and stelae were erected especially in tombs and temples for this purpose. One of the standard prayers of an ancient Egyptian was that someone “cause his name to live.”
